[Objective] To evaluate accuracy, precision, and technical ease-of-use of the CoaguChek XS compared with laboratory measurements.[Methods] One hundred and twenty-two patients following mechanical valve replacement in HuaXi hospital of Sichuan university were chosen randomly. The target INR range of oral anticoagulation therapy was 1.5-2.0. Dual measurements of INR values were performed from both finger capillary blood by the CoaguChek XS and from venous blood by the central laboratory.[ Results ]None of anticoagulation complications were founded in our group. The study presents a good correlation between the portable coagulometer Coaguchek XS and laboratory coagulation analyzer STA-R: r=0.946 (P< 0.001) . A simplified concordance test showing concordances=75.5%. The absolute difference (mean ± SD) between central laboratory and CoaguChek XS was 0.0915±0.1545.[Conclusion] The PT/INR values measured by the CoaguChek XS monitor showed an excellent correlation with PT/INR values measured by the established laboratory method. The CoaguChek XS is an accurate and precise...
