Objective:To prospectively evaluate the clinical value of dual-phase enhanced 16-slice Spiral CT(SCT) in the diagnosis and preoperative TNM staging of gastric carcinoma, and to discuss the relation between imaging signs and pathologic findings. Materials and Methods:53 cases of gastric carcinoma confirmed by histopathological examination were scanned by SCT (Siemens Sensation 16 scanner). After an overnight fast, each patient was injected 654-2 10 mg and asked to drink 500~1000ml of water. The scan protocols included both non-enhanced and contrast-enhanced scanning. The arterial phase and venous phase were obtained respectively 35~40s and 70~80s after the beginning of the injection of the nonion contrast agent 80ml. The scanning covered from the diaphragmatic dome to the umbilicus in the non-enhanced and arterial phase, while from the diaphragmatic dome to the public bone in the venous phase. The data were reconstructed at 1 mm intervals, three-dimensional reconstruction were performed based on it. All the CT images were analyzed independently by 2 radiologists without information about gastroscopic, surgical and histological results. The CT findings were compared with postoperative pathologic results. The data were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 for...
