Background: The patients with sudden coronary death (SCD) are commonly seen in forensic practice, accounting for 50% of sudden cardiac death. However, the study about SCD is mostly studied on clinical applications, and are often used the method of investigation from the sufferers of coronary heart disease. The forensic pathology study on sudden coronary death is quite little.particularly by retrospective method and experiments study the autopsy data.Purpose:To study the epidemiologic characteristics of sudden coronary death in forensic pathology, to clarify the puzzling critic points of the postmortem diagnosis and find some sensitive, reliable biomarkers for the forensic diagnosis of myocardium ischemia by HE.Methods: Data was collected from 89 autopsy cases of sudden coronary death in Forensic Medical Identification Center of West China Sichuan between 1985 and 2005. With T test and other statistic analyse for those data, we respectively research the epidemiologic characteristics of SCD in forensic pathology, including age, sex, trigger, fat, luminal stenosis of LAD, other diseases and pathology of cardiac muscle, and so on. And detect the expression of hsp70 by immunohistochemistry staining, whose intensity will assessed by image analysis system.
