Pharmaceutical excipient is the important part of pharmaceutical preparations. It plays a key role in the improvements of the performance of drug form. bioavailability and reducing the side effect. Recent years, with the fast development of medical field, more and more scientists pay attention to development of new pharmaceutical excipient. Hydrogel is a soft and wet material, which is used widely in the drug delivery system. Because it provides good biocompatible property and can retard the release of drug. This paper focus on the preparation of new-style carboxymethyl chitosan pharmaceutical hydrogel excipient and its potential applicationThe main contents and conclusions in this paper are as follows:The novel carboxymethyl chitosan hydrogel was prepared with crosslinking reagent of the dialdehyde starch (DAS). The structure and morphology of the hydrogel was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) .The swelling and drug release behavior of hydrogel were also investigate. Hydrogel shrunk most at isoelectric point (IEP) and with the deviation of IEP, the swelling degree increased. We chose the aspirin as the model drug. We find that the aspirin can release five days. The drug cumulative release ratio in the acid solution was higher than in the alkaline solution.Carboxymethyl chitosan/gelatin hydrogel were prepared by blending the caoboxymethyl chitosan and gelatin using the dialdehyde starch as the crosslinking agent. The structure of the blend hydrogel was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The swelling behavior under the influence of pH, the mechanical strength and the drug release behavior were studies. There is strong interaction between carboxymethyl chitason and gelatin in the hydrogel. The mechanical strength of the blend hydrogel greatly enhanced with the introduction of gelatin. And the drug cumulative release ratio would decrease with the proper quantity introduction of gelatin.Complex beads composed of carboxymethyl chitosan and alginate were prepared by dropping aqueous carboxymethyl chitosan- alginate into calcium chloride-DAS solution. The structure and morphology of gel beads were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and SEM. Complex beads were crosslinked by ionic chelating bonds and covalent bonds. It had a core-layer structure. The...
