The Effects Of Danshen Injection On The Growth And Metastasis Of Lewis Lung Carcinoma And The Expression Of MMP-9

Objective To investigate the effects of Danshen injection which have different concentration on the growth and metastasis of Lewis lung carcinoma and the expression of MMP-9.Methods C57BL mice with Lewis lung carcinoma were used in this study ,which were injected respectively with Danshen injection (5, 10, 20, 40, 80g/kg) and CTX and saline. Then the weight and numbers of the metastatic foci on lungs were determined, and the expression of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP-9) of Lewis lung carcinoma was observed.Results (1) Both the minimum concentration Danshen injection and CTX could remarkably reduce the weight of foci. (2) All concentration Danshen injection did not remarkably influence the numbers of the metastatic foci except CTX. (3) Both low and medium concentration Danshen injection can remarkably influence the expression of MMP-9, but others and CTX can not. (4) Both Danshen and CTX did not show remarkable effect on the rate between spleen and weight or thymus and weight.Conclusion Danshen injection of different concentration can not inhibit or promote the metastasis of Lewis lung carcinoma in mice, but the minimum concentration can remarkably inhibit the growth. The expression of MMP-9 reduces in low dose group and medium dose group.
