The bioelectric impedance measuring technology is a non-invasive detecting technique which extracts biomedical information relating to human body's physiological and pathology status, through the measurement of electrical characters (impedance, admittance, permittivity) in biological tissue and organ This technology possesses many advantages, such as non-invasiveness, low cost, safety, nontoxicity, harmlessness and so on. Function evaluation of heart, brain, lung and circulation system could be achieved using this technique, so it has extensive application perspective. The 2D and 3D models of Bioelectrical Impedance Measuring Technology have been developed in recent ten years. A mathematic model of sensitive field was built to give detailed analysis of both numeric and analytic solution to the forward problem of BIA in the quasi-static electromagnetic field. However, the complex model is difficult to solve. This paper presents the theoretical research on Bioelectrical Impedance Measuring Technology in either quasi-static field or non-quasi-static field. The analytical equations are derived with the method of separation of variable when excitation electrodes are placed at any location in 2D and 3D quasi-static electromagnetic field. In addition the analytical equation is derived when excitation electrodes are placed at any location in circular electromagnetic field. In mammary cancer detection, the distribution of the inside mammary tissue is mapped which is simulated through measuring the electric current in the top of the galactophore according to the simple theoretical geometrical model. The paper analyzes and discusses the possibility of replacing 3D human model with the simple model and the changes result from different measurement method with simulating and analyzing 3D human model. This paper presents the differences between opposite and same side excitation, the reason using theoretical models with simplified geometries is built with ANSYS.
