ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of cruising on semen quality.MethodsThirty fishermen's semen were tested before and after cruising.ResultsAfter cruising, some parameters were dropping, such as semen volume (P<0.05), sperm density (P<0.05), the proportion of normal sperm morpholgy, sperm motility (P<0.01), others were not significantly changed , such as sperm liquefacion time (P>0.05), PH(P>0.05), compared with before cruising. The percentage of grade(a) sperm and grade (a+b)sperm were significantly lower after cruising than before cruising(P<0.05). The level of mercury element in semen was significantly higher after cruising(P<0.05)while other heavy metals such as Zinc, copper, lead and cadmium elements were not significantly changed(P>0.05).ConclusionIn comparison with before cruising, semen quality after cruising is decline.
