| Objectives: To investigate the effects and mechanisms of Shexiang Baoxin Pills (SBP) on myocardial fibrosis in spontaneous hypertensive rats (SHR).Methods: 26 male SHRs at eight-weeks of age were randomly divided into two groups, the experimental group which were treated with shexiang baoxin pills (SB group, n = 13) and the positive control group(SHR group, n = 13). 13 male Wistar Kyoto rats at eight-weeks of age were as control group (WKY group). Rats in SB group were given Shexiang-Baoxin Pills(112.5mg · kg-1 · d-1 )for 16 weeks by gavage and rats in SHR group and WKY group were given equal water. Sixteen weeks later, we observe these indexes: ①systolic blood pressure (SBP), heart rate (HR), body weight (BW) in different periods. ②We observe the intraventricular septum thickness of end diastolic (IVSTd), left ventricular posterior wall thickness of end diastolic (LVPWTd), left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD) and left ventricular end systolic diameter (LVESD) by echocardiography. ③Heart function: Ratio of E peak to A in forward blood flow spectrum of bicuspid valve peak (E/A), midwall fractional shortening of left ventricular (MFS), left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) and endocardial fractional shortening (FS). ④Ultrasonic Backscatter Parameters analyzing: Corrected Integrated backscatter (IBS%) and cyclic variation of integrated backscatter(CVIB) ⑤After the rats were killed, we get the left ventricle mass(LVM)... |
