Nano material is the stuff which is composed of the material of size of 1~100 nm. Compared with traditional sized materials, nano-sized materials processed the obvious effects of small size, surface and interface, macro-quantum tunnel and catalysis. All above-mentioned characters of nano materials have drown the attention of many scientists from all over the world. However, current research and applications of nano materials can not meet the daily growing requirements. Countless attempts have been processed in all kinds of fields to find nano technology of how to prepare materials with excellent performance.Simultaneously, in current analytical field, HPLC and CE are two mainly important separation modes. With the further development of research, more and more combined methods of traditional CE and HPLC occurred, such as, MECC and CEC, etc. Hence, better quality separation medium are expected to be produced and it also presents the nano particles a vast field.In this paper, a nano-electrospray emitter has been made in our laboratory, then deeply research has been processed, which is research of preparation of inorganic silica nano spheres and C8 bonded silica nano spheres by sol-gel processing combined with electro-spray technique in one step. Based on the different reaction systems, the experimental method has been improved and several reaction conditions have been investigated.Fuethermore, we mainly focus on the application of novel electro-spray technique to prepare nano-sized chromatographic packings, especially in the process of forming silica nano particles, the C8 group was bonded onto the particle surface in only one step. And the prepared nano particles have been characterized by SEM, TEM, Spectrum analysis, SPE, and so on. It indicated that the prepared particles have the characters of good dispersing, excellent sphericity and uniformity.This is an exploration of nano technology and presents the brand-new technique supply. And at the same time this new method entitles a broader range of applications and provides a novel technology support to the preparation of nano chromatographic packings.On the basis of the results, more deeply exploration of applications has been done.
