Objectives:1. To investigate the histological characteristics and collagen status in uterineligaments of peirmenopausal women with pelvic floor relaxation and young women at third trimester pregnancy by using immunohistochemistry and image analysis technique and the relationship between pelvic floor relaxation and collagen content.2. To observe the clinical presentation of ten cases with pelvic floor relaxation who were treated with the mesh.Materials and Methods:1. The cardinal ligament and uterosacral ligament samples were obtained from 36 subjects undergoing hysterectomy(4 cases of late pregnant women and 4 cases of its control patient, 14 cases of peirmenopausal women with pelvic floor relaxation, and 14 cases of its control patient, The biopsie were fixed, paraffin-embedded, and sectioned. Histological slides were stained with Masson's trichrome stains. All the samples were analysed under microscope by the same person for the histological characteristic, and the immuohistochemistry assay was used to determine the contents of collagen type I and type III.2. Ten patient with pelvic floor relaxation were treated with the comprehensive methods based on the vaginal mesh, compared with the traditional procedure.
