Objective: To investigate the relationship between recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).Methods: Choose 34 cases as target who were diagnosed as RSA in our hospital from 2004.11 to 2006.10.The reson that inheritance, anatomy,immunity,infection factors were excluded .They had regular menstrual cycle; two-phase basal body temperature(BBT). Steroid hormone was not used in the recent 3 months ,No drugs were used in 48 hours before biopsy either.Observe 2 cycles of BBT continuously ,after the BBT stablized, take venous blood before breakfast in the seventh day after the BBT rising(that is midluteal phase),P and VEGF levels in the blood were detected. Use Entire automatic microparticle chemiluminescence immunization to detect the level of P in blood serum; enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detect the serum VEGF levels. Endometria were obtained through biopsy and examined by pathologic histology in the same day .According to the Noyes 'standard: 15 cases that endometria's growth not less than 2 days slower than the normal or secretory immature as LPD group,and 19 case that endometria's growth are similar with normal or secretory mature as contral group.Ages and Infertility years between two groups are similar.Use immunehistochemistry to detect PR and vegfr.To investigate the relationship between P,VEGF,PR,VEGFR and RSA,and the correlation of P andPR,VEGF and VEGFR,P and VEGF.All dates were disposed by SPSS10.0 software .Results: In midluteal phase,serum P level was correlated positively with endometria PR level (r=0.615 P<0.01);serum VEGF level was correlated positively with endometria VEGF(r=0.779 P<0.01);serum P level was correlated positively with serum VEGF (r=0.854 P<0.01). In LDH group, serum P level was correlated positively with endometria PR level (r=0.581 P<0.05); serum P level was correlated positively with serum VEGF (r=0.547 P<0.05). The VEGF level of LPD group was almost less than 200pg/ml.In the control group, serum P level was correlated positively with endometria PR level (r=0.447 P<0.05); serum VEGF level was correlated positively with endometria VEGF(r=0.458 P<0.05); serum P level was correlated positively with serum VEGF (r=0.696 P<0.01).0Conclusion : The deficiency of VEGF is one of the important reason of RSA cause by luteal phase defect ,it is the pathological foundation. Detecting the serum VEGF level in midluteal phase has diagnostic value in RSA patients cause by luteal phase defect.
