Medical records were reviewed retrospectively.Results: There were 387 male patients and 331 female patients with an average age of 45.34±20.75 years old. (1) in group 1:377 cases (98.43%) among 383 had infectious disease with 164 cases (42.82%) of pneumonia; 107 cases (27.94%) of acute upper respiratory tract infection; 57 cases (14.88%) of tuberculous pleuritis; 27 cases (7.05%) of pulmonary tuberculosis; 15 cases (3.92%) of acute treacheobronchitis; 5 cases (1.31%) of lung abscess; 2 cases (0.52%) of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 6 (1.57) of the 383 cases had non-infectious disease with 2 cases (0.52%) of lung cancer; 1 case (0.26%) of interstitial pneumonia; 1 case (0.26%) of extrinsic allergic alveolitis; 1 case (0.26%) of lung hamartoma and 1 case (0.26%) of pulmonary thromboembolism.(2) group 2: 109 cases (91.60%) among 119 had infectious diseasewith 57 cases (47.9%) of pneumonia; 21 cases (17.65%) of acute upper respiratory tract infection; 7 cases (5.88%) of bronchiectasis; 7 cases (5.88%) of pulmonary tuberculosis; 6 cases (5.04%) of tuberculous pleuritis; 5 case (4.20%) of lung abscess; 1 case (0.84%) of thoracic empyema; 4cases (3.36%) of acute treacheobronchitis; 1 case (0.84%) of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 10 (8.40%) of the 119 cases had non-infectious disease with 3 cases (2.52%) of lung cancer; 7 case (5.88%) of interstitial pneumonia.(3) group 3: 194 cases (89.81%) among 216 had infectious disease with 123 cases (56.94%) of pneumonia; 22 cases (10.19%) of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; 10 cases (4.63%) of acute treacheobronchitis; 9 cases (4.17%) of acute upper respiratory tract infection; 9 cases (4.17%) of pulmonary tuberculosis; 9 cases (4.17%) of tuberculous pleuritis; 8 cases (3.70%) of bronchiectasis; 3 cases (1.39%) of lung abscess; 1 case (0.46%) of thoracic empyema. 22 (10.19%) of the 216 cases had non-infectious disease with 6 cases (2.78%) of lung cancer; 15 case (6.94%) of interstitial pneumonia, and 1 cases (0.46%) of radiation pneumonia.Conclusions: Infectious diseases were the major causes of respiratory disease with fever.
