Objective The brest cancor is a kind of malignant tumor, becoming a high incidence rate in women. To investigate the relationship between the appearance on mammography and estrogen receptor(ER), progesterone receptor (PR)and C-erbB-2 in infiltrating ductal carcinoma of breast(IDC), analyse and evaluate the possibility of predicting the expression of ER,PR and C-erbB-2 in IDC by means of mammography. Methods A total of 30 patients with IDC confirmed pathologically were involved in this study, and the specimen was examined immunohisto -chemistically to judge the expression of the related factors. The malignant calcification, spicule sign around tumors and mammary hyperplasia on molybdenum target X-ray images were compared with the expression of ER,PRand C-erbB-2.Finally use SPSS11.5 to statistics the data and analyse the result. There was a statistically significant difference when P<0.05.Results In the 30 cases, spicule sign was demonstrated in 22(73.3%), spicule sign was not demonstrated in 8(26.7%); calcification was seen in 13(43.3%), calcification was not seen in 17(56.7%); mammary hyperplasia was seen in 18(60%), mammary hyperplasia was not seen in 16(40%).ER positive expression was seen in 17(56.7%),negative expression was seen in 13(43.3%). ER positive rate in lesions without calcifications was higher than that in lesions with calcifications and no statistically significan difference was found(P>0.05).Significant difference in ER positive rate existed between lesions with spicule sign and lesions without spicule sign(P<0.05). Significant difference in ER positive rate existed between lesions with mammary hyperplasia and lesions without mammary hyperplasia (P<0.05).PR positive expression was seen in 18(60%) , negative expression was seen in 12(40%). PR positive rate in lesions without calcifications was slightly higher than that in lesions with calcifications, but no statistically significant difference was found. (P>0.05). PR positive rate in lesions with spicule sign was higher than that in lesions without spicule sign, but no statistically significant difference (P>0.05) . PR positive rate in lesions with mammary hyperplasia was higher than that in lesions without mammary hyperplasia, but no statistically significant difference was found (P>0.05) .C-erbB-2 positive expression was seen in 18(60%),negative expression was seen in13(40%). Significant difference in C-erbB-2 positive rate existed between lesionswith calcifications and without calcifications (P<0.05).C-erbB-2 positive rate inlesions without spicule sign was higher than that in lesions with spicule sign, but nostatistically significant difference. (P>0.05). C-erbB-2 positive rate in lesions withmammary hyperplasia was higher than that in lesions without mammary hyperplasia, but no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).Conclusion A certain correlation exists between spicule sign and ER expression inpatients with IDC; significant difference existed between the lesions withcalcifications and C-erbB-2 expression in patients with IDC;a certain correlationexists between mammary hyperplasia and ER expression in patients with IDC .Theappearance of infiltrating ductal carcinoma(IDC) on molybdenum target X-ray imagesmaybe used to predict the expression of ER,PR and C-erbB-2 in IDC in order toinstructtreatment and evaluate result.
