Syndromic Classifications Of Endometriosis In Lingnan Area On Traditional Chinese Medicine

Background and Objectiveendometriosis is one kind of gynecology diseases that endometrium with growing power appears outside the uterine cavity. It belongs to the categories of "dysmenorrheal" "sterility" in TCM theory. Endometriosis, commonly found in women in procreation periods, has great influence on the life quality of women. It is difficult to diagnose and cure with the characters of eroding strongly, planting abroad and recrudescence easily. Having an ascending incidence yearly, it is estimated that 15% of women have developed this disease. It is reported that it accounts for 50% of gynecology operations on abdomen. However, its mechanism has not yet been well known. With the development of technology, it has made a great achievement in its therapy in modern western medicine, but it still lacks special therapy methods. Both medicine therapy and surgery therapy have affect on the life quality of women, neither can cure it essentially andeliminate the symptoms permanently. All of these contribute to its recrudescence. A great progress in improving the symptoms and amending the side-effects has been made along with the fast development of the combination of TCM and western medicine. A lot of literatures demonstrate that at present the types of TCM syndromes in EM are in chaos. Most ofthe researches are about some certain herbal prescriptions. So it has profound meanings to make a research on the types of TCM syndromes in EM. Not only can it provide a standard of the types of TCM syndromes in EM, but also a theory support to the clinical practice and scientific study.ObjectiveTo study the regular rule of TCM syndromes in EM in southern areas and the relation between the regular rule and ages, course of diseases, abortion, dysmenorrheal by investing clinical cases.MethodsUsing the designed information-collecting table and clinical epidemiology study method, make a transect research on patients with EM in Guangdong province Hospital of TCM. Then analyze the data on clinical symptoms, behaviors and laboratory examination by testing, describing, clustering the data.ResultsFirstly, the types of TCM syndromes in EM can be primarily concluded. By investing 280 women with EM, collecting the clinical symptoms, analyzing the data and consulting experts, the results show that the main types of TCM syndromes in EM include six types, having the similarity as authority literature but also some differences. It cues that its mechanism is that the functions of apparatus are abnormal, QiXue is not in balance. Blood runs out of its way and coagulate to become gore. Gore is both the cause and the pathologic outcome. Gore is the key point to explain the symptoms and behaviors of EM.Secondly, it has a relation between the regular rule of TCM syndromes in EM and ages, course of diseases, abortion, dysmenorrheal.Conclution: this study shows that the main types of TCM syndromes in EM include six types and it has a relation between the regular rule and ages, course of diseases, abortion, dysmenorrheal.
