Objective Multiple myeloma is a common malignant tumor of hematopoietic system, frequently causes bone ache, pathological fracture, anemia, debilitation, Kidney damage and so on. To follow the social senescence, the mobility of multiple myeoloma showing a tendency of ascensus year by year, and researchers pay more attention on it. Up to now, multiple myeloma is still an uncurable disease, the therapeutic efficacy is not so satisfaction. We study and summarize pertinent literature and clinical data, Kidney deficiency and blood stasis is the main mechanism of multiple myeloma, tonifying the kidney and promoting blood flow is the basic treatment, which can offer new view and method to raise the remission rate, improve the syndrome of anemia, ostealgia and soon of multiple myeloma Methods Divided into two aspects, in the aspect of clinical, we retrospective study 97 patients with multiple myeloma from Guangdong provincial of TCM from the year of 1998, Jan to 2006 Oct, collect four diagnostic informations, acquire the syndrome differentiation, then analyze the distribution feature of syndrome differentiom. While in the aspect of experiment, we use Yishenhuoxueyin from the empirical formula of Prof. Liang Bing whose is a famous veteran reran doctors of TCM, to multiple myeloma cell CZ-1, then observe the proliferation and the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) of CZ-1. Result In the disturbance of syndrome differentiation, kidney deficiency syndrome is the most frequent syndrome of asthenia syndrome, and the constituent ratio is 92.3%, blood stasis syndrome the most frequent syndrome of sthenia syndrome, and the constituent ratio is 90.7%, kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome is the most frequent syndrome of asthenia and sthenia inclusion, and the constituent ratio is 52.6%. Other sydromes are Spleen deficiency with phlegm and dampness (1/97), Kidney deficiency with toxicity and blood stasis (2/97), both Liver and Kidney deficiency with blood stasis (12/97), both Liver and Spleen deficiency with dampness (12/97), both Spleen and Kidney deficiency with dampness and blood stasis (2/97), both Spleen and Kidney deficiency with dampness (2/97), both Spleen and Kidney deficiency with dampness and phlegm (2/97), both Spleen and Kidney deficiency with toxicity and blood stasis (1/97), both Spleen and Kidney deficiency with Qi retaration and blood stasis (6/97), both Liver and Kidney deficiency with toxicity and blood stasis (8/97). While in the experiment, Yishenhuoxueyin can inhibit the proliferation and promote the apoptosis of multiple myeloma cell CZ-1, which depend on concentration and time (P<0.05), meanwhile can inhibit the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor. After undergo the Yishenhuoxueyin drug serum density from ten to thirty percent twenty-four hours late, the vascular endothelial growth factor of cell culture supernatant increase gradually After undergo the Yishenhuoxueyin drug serum forty-eight hours late , the vascular endothelial growth factor of cell culture supernatant increase earlier, then decrease later. After undergo the Yishenhuoxueyin drug serum seventy-two hours late, the vascular endothelial growth factor of ceilculture supernatant decrease obviously. Conclusion In the disturbance of syndrome differentiation, Kidney deficiency and blood stasis is the most frequent syndrome Kidney deficiency and blood stasis is the main etiology and pathology, tonifying the kidney and promoting blood flow is the basic treatment. Yishenhuoxueyin can inhibit the proliferation and promote the apoptosis of multiple myeloma cell CZ-1, meanwhile can inhibit the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor. We suppose that the mechanism of Yishenhuoxueyin to treat multiple myeloma maybe have relationship with angiogenesis...
