Objective To evaluate the clinical value of 64-slicesspiral CT in detecting the coronary artery stenosis. Methods A totalof 60 consecutive patients with high risk agents who were suspectedor final diagnose coronary artery disease were studied by 64-slicesspiral CT. Patients were performed 64-slices spiral CT one day beforethey underwent invasive coronary angiography(ICA). The results werecompared with those obtained from ICA. Aceording to the result ofinvasive coronary angiography(ICA), the patients were devided into twogroups: high—risk group and low—risk group. High-risk group: atleastone branch, the degree of the coronary artery stenosis was>50%; low-risk group: the degree of all coronary artery stenosis were<50%. Normal control group was set up too. The agatston score equivalent(ASE) of the coronary artery tubal wall were evaluated and compared inthe three groups. Results The data evaluation of the image quality wasbased on a total of 780 segmens(13 coronary sements for each patient), ofwhich 712 segments were considered to have diagnostic image quality, 68segments could not be sufficiently evaluated because of severecalcifications and motion artifacts. In the evaluation of the coronaryartery stenosis by 64-slices spiral CT compaed to the goldstandard(ICA), the sensitiveity of the detection of<50%,>50%,>75%coronary coronary segments stenosis were 75%, 81%, 88% respectively, thespecificity was 97%. The evaluation of the agatston score equivalent(ASE) of the coronary artery tubal wall show that ASE of the high riskpatients were higher than the low risk patients and the ASE of the lowrisk patients were higher than the nomal control. (p<0.01) ConlusionOur results indicate high accuracy of angiography of 64-slices spiralCT Combination with ASE, 64-slices spiral CT is a useful method forevaluating and screening the coronary artery stenosis...
