| Objective: To study the distribution of hepatitis B virus genotype in Laiwu andclarify the genotype-related difference in the level of HBV DNA and clinical phenotypes. Methods: Serum samples from 136 HBV DNA positive patients with chronic HBVinfection in Laiwu, including asymptomatic HBV carriers; chronic hepatitis(mild, moderate, severe);liver cirrhosis; hepatocellular carcinoma patients, were collected. Thevalue of HBV DNA was tested by fluorescent quantitation PCR, HBV genotypes wastested by restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results: Of the136 patients,93(68.4%)were genotype C,26(19.1%) were genotype B and 11 (12.5%) were genotypeB+C.A,D,E,F,G and H genotype was not discovered. The value of HBV DNA were moreand more from genotype B,B+C,to C significantly. The value of HBV B were lowerthan genotype C and B+C significantly (P<0.01); The value of HBV DNA were notsignificant difference between genotype C and B+C(P>0.05). Mild ASC,CHB weremore in genotype B than in genotype C and B+C significantly. (P<0.05).Fromasymptomatic HBV carriers; chronic hepatitis(mild, moderate, severe) to liver cirrhosis, genotype C were more and more significantly. In chronic HBV infection patients, genotype C were more than genotype B significantly. Conclusion: (1) Genotype B,genotype C and BC combination exist in Laiwu and C is the major genotype in the area, other genotype was not discovered. (2)Genotype C is associated with the development ofsevere liver disease.(3) In asymptomatic HBV carriers and mild chronic hepatitis group, genotype C is older than genotype B; In other group, age were not different; HBVgenotype have not relationship to gender. (4) HBV DNA positive rate were higher ingenotype C infection than in genotype B significantly.(5)HBV genotypes were importantrole in virus duplication, clinical phenotypes and prognosis. |
