Purpose: To investigate if the inlay Ti Alloy (stapling apparatus) cancause the local heat accumulation effect and the intestinal ambustion inwhole body microwave heating.Methods:1. Phantom experimentPlace the titanium alloy screw nut in the middle of the agar phantomwhich was heated by the UHR-2000 high power focused-beammicrowave hyperthermia machine. Observing the temperature of thetitanium alloy itself and the differencial spot aroud the titaniumalloy. Compare if there is difference of temperature among all points inthe same time point.2. Animal experiment1. Experimental animals are female pigs,40kg each.Hyperthermiasystem is Hunan Huayuan UHR-2000 high power focused-beammicrowave hyperthermia machine.2. In whole body microwave heating:Measuring the real-time temp-erature of each point by calorimetric probe which have been set in thepigs before.Compare if there is difference of temperature among allpoints in the same time,if there are,comparing the range of difference.Establishing self-comparison:(1). Location of the apparatus compare withthe location far away from the apparatus,it sutured by the silksuture; (2).Location of the apparatus compare with l cm away from the locationof the apparatus.Compare two groups real-time temperature of eachcalorimetric point as well as the range of difference of averagetemperature.3.After four times of heating,observing the concrescence of theintestinal tract and examing whether there is local ambustion or fistula.Results:1. In phantom experiment, the temperature of every point mostlymaintain coincidence, the largest range of difference less than 0.8℃,sometime the temperature of two or more points shows the same.Thetime-temperature curves generally maintain coincidence,mostly overlap-ped.P>0.05.In microwave heating,there is no heat accumulation effect intitanium alloy and circumferential part.2. Animal experiment:During the heating,temperature of every pointgenerally maintain coincidence.the largest range of difference less than0.6℃, sometime the temperature of two or three points shows thesame.The time-temperature curves generally maintain coincidence,partially overlapped.P>0.05.In whole body microwave heating,there is noheat accumulation effect in stapling apparatus and circumferential part.3.After four times of heating,we can see the intestinal tractanastomosed by the stapling apparatus and sutured by the silksuture healwell,there is no flare,amoustion,ulcer or fistula.There is a circle scar in each anastomosis of the intestinal tract.There are no obvious inflamm-ation and ulcer, the appearance of the two parts are similar.4. After HE tinction,the section of two parts show scar tissue,partialshows thrum image,inflammatory cells infiltration in intestinalparies,there is no ulcer and large piece of necrosis can be observed.Conclusion:1. In microwave heating, the inlay titanium Alloy (stapling apparatus)may not cause local heat accumulation until the temperature was warmedup to 44.5℃.2. In microwave heating, the inlay titanium Alloy (stapling apparatus)do not lead to heat ambustion in local intestinal tissue until thetemperature was warmed up to 44.5℃.3. In our opinion, the patients who have the inlay titanium alloy maynot be supposed as the contraindication of the UHR-2000 high powerfocused-beam microwave hyperthermia machine.
