Objective: To summarize the experiences of prosthetic heart valve replacement. Methods: The data of 2044 patients underwent prosthetic heart valve replacement were retrospectively analysed. There were rheumatic valvular disease 1723 cases, degenerates valvular disease 104 cases, congenital valvular disease 64 cases, and infective endocarditic 153 cases. 464 cases underwent aortic valve replacement, 1240 cases underwent mistral valve replacement, 321cases underwent double valves replacement ,16 cases underwent tricuspid valve replacement,3 cases underwent mitral valve, aortic valve and tricuspid valve at one stage.Result: Postoperative complication occurred in 306 cases(14.9%),including low cardiac output syndrome 104, ventricular arrhythmia 148,respiratory failure 39,and acute renal failure 15.There were 47(2.3%) early death;the reasons for early death included low cardiac output syndrome 35, arrhythmia 4,infective endocarditis 2,rupture of left ventricle 2 and respiratory failure 4.Conclusion: Proper indication, fully preoperative preparation, proper surgical techniques, better perioperative management and proper postoperative anti-coagulation treatment play important roles in achieving good results.
