Objective:To examine the effects of meteorological factors on cerebral vascular disease (CVD)of the first affiliated hospital of Shanxi Medical University. Methods:I collected 10-year cerebral stroke cases(from1996 to 2005)in the first affiliated hospital of Shanxi Medical University in taiyuan, examined onset of cerebral infarction and intracerebral hemorrhage(subarachnoid cases are so few that noway to analysis)over a 10-year period to find out stroke occurrence patterns, finding out the monthly and two-monthly regularity of the onset.I analyzed seasonal variation in stroke occurrence with analysis of variance and yearly centralization trend of stroke occurrence with circular distribution.I analized the effccts of the main eight meteorological factors(Ta,Th,Tl,Pa,Ph,Pl,Ha,H1)on CI and CH of recent five years with Pearson's correlation and multiple stepwise regression.Results:(1)seasonal patterns of intracerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction occurrence are apparent.(2)There is a trend of centralization in 2001 of yearly intracerebral hemorrhage occurrence and total with the mean angels in December and November(P<0.05).Some yearly cerebral infarction occurrence have trends of centralization in November and October(P<0.05).(3)Pear- son,s correlation analysis suggest that monthly cerebral infarction is negatively correlated with either extrimly temperature or extdmly barometric pressure(P<0.05)and positively correlated with average relative humidity(P<0.05);monthly intracerebral hemorrhage is negatively correlated with either average or extrimly barometric pressure(P<0.05)and positively correlated with either average or extrimly temperature(P<0.05).(4)Stepwise regression analysis suggests that cerebral infarction occurrence is associated with monthly average top barometric pressure and average relative humidity, and intracerebral hemorrhage occurrence is associated with monthly average barometric pressure, average top barometric pressure and average top temperature. Conclusions:Intracerebral hemorrhage occurrence has definite seasonality, winter is predilection, annum occurrence is concemtrated within the four months of winter(November to next Febrary);cerebral infarction occurrence has no conclusive seasonality,it's occurrence is concerntrated within December to next January.Intracerebral hemorrhage occurrence is associated with the activity of high barometric pressure and cold air mass. And cerebral infarction occurrence is associated with the condition of high temperature, low temperature and high barometric pressure. The interaction of multiple meteorological factors has effects on stroke occurrence, meteorological factors fluctuate abnormly and disturbance of the balance will easely induce occurrence of stroke.
