There is high prevalence of liver cirrhosis B virus-related in china. The prevalence of gallstones in patients with liver cirrhosis is significantly higher than in controls. Therefore, the Chinese scholars more and more play close attention to gallstones in cirrhotic patients,Up to now,the pathogenesis of the phenomenon is still not fully clarified and is proposed that gallstones' formation mostly related with biliary tract infection, changed composition of bile, impaired gallbladder contractility. So,it's considered that there is significant trlationship between the liver and the formation of gallstones. For the past years, with the improve of ultrasound, ultrasound play an important role in guiding clinical cure and increasing live time of cirrhotic patients as the first imaging examine tool.Aims:We retrospectively studied 146 cirrhotic patients aimed to evaluate the prevalence of gallstones and related risk ultrasonic factors.Materials and Methods:146 cirrhotic patients studied come from shanxi Medical University Affiliated the first clinical hospital of infection section. The diagnosis of cirrhosis was confirmed by laboratory and imaging examination.83 healthy controls come from Medical Examination Center of coal hospital. After fasting for at least 8h,abdominal ultrasonography was performed with all subjects lying in supine or left lateral decubitus position with a 3.5MHz convex probe. Recoded some parameter as follow:gender, the inside diameter of portal vein, gallbladder wall thickening, and whether or not combining gallstones, ascites, splenomegaly. Results were expressed as incidence rate and mean±standard error of the mean.Chi-square test was used for intergroup comparison of incidence rate. The intergroup difference was compared by student's test.Logistic regression was analyzed the related risk factors. Results was considered statistically significant at P<0.05.Results:Gallstones were found in 53(36.3%)of the 146 patients with liver cirrhosis,The prevalence of gallstones in cirrhosis patients was significantly higher than that in healthy subjects(9.6%),P<0.05.There was no significant difference in gander(x~2=0.92),the inside diameter of portal vein(x~2=0.915),gallbladder wall thickening related the prevalence of gallstones in cirrhosis,P>0.05.The prevalence of gallstones in decompensatory cirrhosis patients was higher than that compensatory subjects,P<0.05(x~2=3.95).on gallbladder wall thickening, After fasting for at least 8h,cirrhotic patients with gallstones(0.63±0.3)showed thickener than those without(0.41±0.16)P<0.05;60min after the meal, there was no different between fasting for at least 8h and 60min the meal,P>0.05.In addition, gallbladder with gallstones impaired at a higher rate than without gallstones,P<0.05.Logistic regression showed ascites, splenomegaly were risk factors related the prevalence of gallstones.Conclusions:1.The prevalence of gallstones in patients with liver cirrhosis is significantly higher than in controls.2.There was no significant difference in gander, the inside diameter of portal vein related the prevalence of gallstones in cirrhosis. And ascites, splenomegaly were risk factors related the prevalence of gallstones.3.The prevalence of gallstones in decompensatory cirrhosis patients was higher than that compensatory subjects. The prevalence of gallstones increased with the progression of liver cirrhosis.4.The gallbladder was significantly impaired in patients with liver cirrhosis, and may play important role in the pathogenesis of gallstones. The prevalence rate of gallbladder impaired is higher in cirrhosis related gallbladder wall thickener.
