Analysis Of Curative Effect Of Congenital Clubfoot(Report Of 78 Cases)

Objective Between June.1992 and Oct.2006,78 patients(103 feet) with congenital clubfoot were treated .To discuss clinical indication and results of surginal treatments with congenital clubfoot by the analysis of these cases.Methods 78 patients(103 feet) with congenital clubfoot were treated by soft tissue looseing, muscle strength balanced and ossous orthopedics and so. One or several surginal techniques were analysed and statisted, and long-term effects were compared and statistic analysis.Results 78 patients(103 feet) were followed-up for at least 2 years and 3 months, at the most 5 years and 8 months, mean 3 years and 10 months. These cases were assessed by Garccan standard.No one arised the wounded infection,overcorrected and talus navicular bone necrosis.The rate of fineness with deformity correction was 68.0%.The rate fineness with soft tissue looseing along with tibialis posterior anterioirlateral aversion was 90.0%, and 7 feet recovered poorly, they are all the Gradeâ…£congenital clubfoot. There are 5 cases that received two operations.Conclusion Different surgical techniques were choosed according to the pathology of congenital clubfoot,and to choose the proper management and gain the best motor function.One or several operations were applied to the patients with congenital clubfoot.The effect of soft tissue looseing along with tibialis posterior anterioirlateral aversion operation was better than soft tissue looseing along with tibialis anterior lateral aversion operation.The better the effect was , the younger the patients were .The poorer the function was , the severer the deformity was .The long-term effects were poor with only soft tissue looseing operation, muscle strength balanced treantment was needed. Ossous orthopedics operation was applied to the elder, severe deformity and the remainder deformity patients.Postoperative deformity was corrected ,but also the function had the patial loss.
