The modes of thought of Traditional Chinese Medicine are to analyze the objects with Yinyang and the Five Elements theories. The Traditional Chinese Medicine develops from the medicine reflected in the oracle bone inscriptions, so the genesis of the modes is the process of change from oracle medicine to Yinyang and the Five Elements theories. On the basis of regenerating historical context, this thesis suggests:(1)The oracle medicine is not a independent modality of medicine, but an existence as a unity of witchery. The modes of oracle medicine thought are as same as the witchery's. It can be called the mode of "He" in the sense of searching the identity embodied in all things and the harmony which exist between the things. Under these modes of thought, the concept of Heavenly Emperor lead to the tendency that things could be considered in the name of number Two and Five.(2)In the period of nascent Chou Dynasty, the concept of "Tien" (Heaven) was as a substitute of Heavenly Emperor. All things (includes heaven, earth, human being) were explained by naturalistic manner because of the inherent natural attribute in the concept of "Tien", and worldly people stood off the area of divinity. The medical treating ways using stone and medication stood out in this background. And the modes of thought number Tow and Five which then established the main direction of Traditional Chinese Medicine had been reserved and impenetrated. By the time of the Warring States, the thought was displayed as the Yinyang and the Five Elements theories which stand for the basic characters of symbol- and- number thinking mode in the Traditional Chinese Medicine.
