ObjectiveTo detect the serum proteomic patterns by using SELDI-TOF-MS (surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization-time of flight-mass sp- ectrometry) technology in colorectal cancer patients, and to evaluate the significance of the proteomic patterns in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer, while detection of early stage colorectal cancer are urgently needed.Material and methods26 cases of the patients with colorectal cancer, 29 cases of the healthy people were tested by IMAC-Cu proteinchip reader of ciphergen . Then all serum combined with the surface of the IMAC3-Cu proteinchip. Proteomic spectra were generated by mass spectroscopy surface-enhanced laser desorption and ionization.ResultsThere were two protein contents of the two groups are obviously differ- et, the M/ Z values is 3774 Da and 11851 Da . Analysis of the spectra from colorectal cancer patients, healthy people corresponding correct ratio was 96.36%. This result yielded 92.31% sensitivity and 100%specificity. ConclusionColorectal cancer can be quickly and exactly diagnosed by this method with high sensitivity and specificity. That could be used in clinical application.
