OBJECTIVE: To analysis the influence of HP infection toplasma oxidative stress state and platelet mitochondrial function of PDpatient. In order to determine the role of HP infection in thepathogenesis of PD.METHODS: 53 patients with PD and 50 age-matched controlsubjects were analyzed. Plasma HP-IgG antibody were measured bywestern-blot. Plasma MDA, GSH level and platelet mitochondriacomplexⅠactivity were measured by spectrophotometry respectively.RESULTS:1. The seropositivity for antibody against HP were 84.91% in PDgroup and 66.00% in control group, typeⅠinfection were 82.22% inPD group and 72.73% in control group, the seropositivity for HPantibody and typeⅠinfection all significantly higher in PD group thanin control group(p<0.05).2. Platelet mitochondria complexⅠactivity: 1.5769±0.51419 U/mgin PD group and 4.0690±1.39117 U/mg in control group, there weresignificantly difference between two groups(p<0.05). 1.1707±0.46948U/mg in PD (HP+) group, 3.7099±1.92352 U/mg in PD (HP-) group,2.9183±1.64606 U/mg in control (HP+) group, 6.6006±2.44776 U/mgin control (HP-) group, there was significantly difference between PD(HP+) group and control (HP-) group(p<0.05).3. Plasma MDA level: 4.7380±0.19467nM/ml in PD group and4.1839±0.16281nM/ml in control group, there were no significantlydifference between two groups(p>0.05). 4.8427±0.22049nM in PD(HP+) group, 4.1883±0.27088nM in PD (HP-) group, 4.3145±0.19857 nM/ml in control (HP+) group, 3.8964±0.26676nM/ml in control (HP-)group, there were significantly difference between PD (HP+) group andcontrol (HP-) group (p<0.05).4. Plasma GSH level: 0.1869±0.00565g/l in PD group and0.1717±0.00643g/l in control group, there were no significantlydifference between two groups(p>0.05). 0.1877±0.00630g/l inPD(HP+) group, 0.1827±0.01427g/l in PD(HP-) group, 0.1759±0.00843g/l in control(HP+) group, 0.1626±0.00868g/l in control(HP-)group, there were no significantly difference between PD(HP+),PD(HP-), control(HP+)and control(HP-) group(p>0.05).5. The platelet mitochondria complexⅠactivity were negativecorrelated with UPDRS scores, r=-0.444(p<0.05), and there were nocorrelation with complexⅠactivity and age or duration. There were nocorrelation with plasma MDA and UPDRS scores, age or duration. Theplasma GSH were negative correlated with duration, r=-0.442(p<0.05),and there were no correlation with plasma GSH and UPDRSscores or age.CONCLUSION: HP infection caused systemic oxidative stressand mitochondria dysfunction in definite tissues, that may participatedin the pathogenesis of PD.
