Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the changing of bacterial load applied with Iodophors and Rivanol of diabetic foot ulcers, Furthermore to evaluate the effect of both in removing superficial microbes of diabetic foot ulcers. Methods:All the patients enlisted were randomly devided into contrast group, Iodophors group and Rivanol group. Each wound was debrided before process, then drug was compressed on the wound for 5 minutes, samples gained for three times, before, immediately after and 24 hours after the process. Each sample was diluted before cultivation, the number of bacteria of wound were counted and compared among groups. Results:The cultures of specimens showed that the load decreased in every group, and there were not significantly difference between each groups immediately after procedure. There were statistically significant defferences between Iodophors and Rivanol(P<0.01),Iodophors and Sodium Chloride (P<0.05),but there were no statistically significant differences between.Rivanol and Sodium Chloride(P<0.05)24 hours after treatment. Conclusions:Both Iodophors and Rivanol could remove the bacteria on the surface of wound. The bacterial load of wound changed obviously after dealed with Iodophors,Rivanol or Sodium Chloride without significant deviation. The bacteriostasis of Iodophors was much better than Rivanol or Sodium Chloride after 24 hours, and there were not significant differences between.Rivanol and Sodium Chloride.topical germicide could reduced bacterial load in the wound of diabetic foot, the role of sterilizing and bacteriostasis of Iodophors were the best of three.
