Detection Of Chronic Alcoholics's-100β Protein In Serumand Density Of Their Myelin Basic Protein

objective: To investigate the detected result of the chronic alcohollics' s100B protein in serum and the density of myelin basic protein(MBP) as well as the meaning of doing the investigation.Methods: (1)Group1: 52 chronic alcoholics; compared with 30 normalhealthy persons.Group 2: Divide the 52 chronic alcoholics into two parts: 32dependant alcoholics and 20 alcoholics who have hallucination caused byalcoholism; compared with 30 normal healthy persons.Group 3:52 chronic alcoholics are divided into two parts: 17alcoholics with abnormal CT and 35 alcoholics with normal CT; comparedwith 30 normal healthy persons.Group 4: 52 chronic alcoholics are divided into three partsaccording to the time they have drunk alcohol: 16 of 5-10 years; 21 of10-20 years; 15 of 20-30years; compared with 30 normal healthy persons.(2) Detect s-100B in serum and MBP level of the objects of each groupby using the way of eyzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay (ELISA), thencompare them with the normal persons'.Result. the density of the chronic alcoholics' s-100B protein in serumis (627±0.089)while the compared objects' is (532±0.342)ng/L withsignificance difference (p＜0.01); the density of the dependantalcoholics' s-100Bprotein is (630±0.082)while the alcoholics who havehallucination has(0.613±0.089)g/Lwith apparent difference (p＜0.01):compared with the versus objects (2.986±0.392).The MBP density of thealcoholics' who has hallucination is (421±0.305),with Significancedifference (p＜0.05). The density of s-100B and MBP of the alcoholics'with abnormal CT is (0.652±0.099) and (3.275±0.477)ng/L; the densityof s-100B of the alcoholics' who has drunk for 10-20 years is (0.615±0.041), compared with the versus objects' (p＜0.01), and the MBPdensity is (3.263±0.286)ng/L with difference(p＜0.05).The density ofs-100B and MBP of the alcoholics' who have drunk for 20-30 years is (0.729±0.082) and (3.578±0.313)ng/L with significance difference (p＜ 0.01).Conclusion: The density of the s-100B of the chronic alcoholics' isclearly higher than those of the versus objects', and the MBP densityhas the tendencyOf increasing though there is no statistic difference;the density of s-100B began to rise in the early years of the alcoholicsdrinking and the numbers increasingly rise with the growing of the ageof the alcoholism: the density of s-100B and MBP apparently rise whenthe chronic alcoholics' get encephalanalosis; the density of s-100Bprotein and MBP will probably be used as biochemical quota which can helpto observe the destruction in brains of alcoholics'.
