Background Hematologic neoplasma is a kind of clonial disease involved in blood, hematologic tissue and organs. A great number of researching evidences indicate that the abnomality of the chromosome and its genes is the most important factor leading to hematologic neoplasma. With the development of biotechnology and bioinformatics, a large scale collection of the genitic resources of hematologic neoplasma is very important to make research further in pathogenesis of neoplasma, biological phaenotype, clinical dignosis, detecting minimal residual disease and prognosis etc al.Objective (1) To develop genetic resource database and use it to collect samples and their genetic and genetic-related information of hematologic neoplasma as widely, truly and conveniently as possible.(2) To design a schema of extracting data from the Hospital Information System(HIS) to the genetic resource database under the authourization of related department. (3) With the Webservice technology, we'll try to integrate the data and to realize their preliminary utilization in medical science, science research and medical education. Methods (1) Design an optimized system infrastructure to meet the demand of medical science, medical research and medical education.(2)On resources collecting layer, develop cross-platform java program, submitting laboratory data of morphology, immunology, cytogenetics, molecular biology (MICM) through network by implementing it on workstations of cell morphology, flow cytometry(FCM), cytogenetics and fluorescent in situ hybridization(FISH). (3) To delvelop a hematologic neoplasma sample management system, promote hematologic neoplasma physical sample database to a information database by standardizing management of samples. (4)On integrating layer, web service technolodge is used as well to develop interface that provide resource center data as tandard Extensible Markup Language(XML) format in internet. (5)On application layer, a simple synthetic search application is developed to fulfil the function of querying across multi-centers by invoke web service interfaces that provided by resource centers in internet. Results (1)System infrastructure of hematologic neoplasma resource database has beed designed. (2)Cytogenetic examination resource submitting system and FISH examination resource submitting system have been developed by java, that enables the collecting of cytogenetic and molecular biological examination resources. (3) Sample management system has been delveloped and implemented on a PC in lab, so hematologic samples and its information can be arranged orderly. (4)A simple synthetic query application has been developed to fulfil the function of querying among multi-centers by invoke web service interfaces provided by resource centers in internet. Conclusions In this topic, part of hematologic neoplasma genetic resources can now be collected effectively, and it carries out a reasonable schema which can make all the hematologic neoplasma resource centers available for complicate searching and data mining. (1)By using the cross-platform character of java technology, we have removed the difficulty present before, and realized resource collecting finally. (2)By using the integrating character of webservice technology, design webservice interfaces on resource centers to provide standardized data, by invoking these interfaces, we realized synthetic query the among these resource centers. We have designed the schema on integration between resource center database and HIS database. The completion and of system and its implementation on collaborating hospitals can make following available, that includes: (1) providing a large number of cases for statistic by integrating several centers of hematologic neoplasma genitic resources database. (2)enhancing sample-sharing and scientific collaboration by search sample information on our platform which actually querying across several resource centers.(3)providing science researching platform for large-scale drug screening, and curative effect appraisal.
