The clinic study on 25 cases of struma ovary and 3 cases strumal carcinoid of ovaryObjectiveTo study the diagnosis and treatment of struma ovary and strumal carcinoid of ovary.Methods25 cases of struma ovary and 3 cases strumal carcinoid of ovary were analyzed by retrospective analysis method.ResultsThe age of patient often ranged from 21 years old to 77 years old . Clinical symptoms showed abdominalgia , abdominal distention, ascites, abdominal mass and an elevated Ca125 level. 25 cases were struma ovary and 3 cases were strumal carcinoid of ovary. 25 cases of struma ovary were uncertainly diagnosed before surgery except for the 2 cases that were suspicious of malignant tumour. Between 25 cases ,5 cases were received hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-opho rectomy. 3 cases receied hysterectomy and unilateral salpingo—ophorectomy, 17 cases received ocystectomy or unilateral salpingo—ophorectomy. 2case with struma ovary and papillo-carcinoma received operation by staging or chemotherapy. Between 3 cases of strumal carcinoid, 1 case received operation by staging. 1 case received hysterectomy and unilateral salpingo-ophorectomy. 1 case received laparoscope unilateral salpingo—ophorectomy.ConclusionStruma ovary are highly specialized teratoma with low incidence, nonspecific clinical manifestation and difficult diagnosis. Benign struma ovary should be treated by laparo-cystectomy or laparoscopic unilateral salpingo-ophorectomy. ophorectomy. Strumal carcinoid of ovary is a rare germ cell tumour with thyroid follicle differentiation. The tumor had distinct components of carcinoid and struma. Most of strumal cardnoid of ovary is localized at ovary. The treatment is not ensured, it can be staging surgery, hysterectomy and unilateral salpingo—ophorectomy or laparoscope unilateral salpingoophorectomy. Chemotherapy is a kind of choice.
