Objective The aim of this study is to test the expression of HER-2 protein in patients with non-small cell lung cancer and investigate the relationship between HER-2 protein expression and chemotherapeutic response rate and survival。Methods 58 samples of paraffin-embedded tumors from patients with non-small cell lung cancer were examined for HER-2 protein expression by immunohistochemical methods(MaxvisionTMquick immunohistochemical methods)。Results Positive HER-2 protein expression of total 58 patients was 25.9%。2 samples were positive HER-2 protein expression(+++),5 samples were positive HER-2 protein expression(++),8 samples were positive HER-2 protein expression(+)。Positive HER-2 protein expression of Adencarcinoma was 18.8%,squamous carcinoma was 34.6%,The survival difference was not significant between Adencarcinoma and squamous carcinoma。The response rate to chemotherapy in positive and negative HER-2 protein expression groups was 33.3%and 65.1%respectively(P=0.03)。The survival difference was not significant between the positive and negative HER-2 protein expression groups(P=0.13)。Conclusion HER-2 protein can be used to be a independent predict factor about chemotherapeutic sensitivity。The role that overexpression of HER-2 protein was correlation to prognosis of advanced stage patients with non-small cell lung cancer should be further studied。...
