Protectant Effects Of Arnebia Euchroma (Royle) Johnst In The Immunosuppressed Mice Treated With Cyclophosphamide

Objective:To study the protectant effect of Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst in the immunosuppressed mice treated with cyclophosphamide(CY)and approach the mechanism of action about it.Methods:Fifty 6-week-old ICR mice were randomly divided into five groups.Except the normal group,the others were treated with CY(300mg/kg,peritoneal injection)at the first day to erect the immunosuppressed mice model.At the first day of injection,the normal control and the model group were treated with physiologic saline(0.5ml),the high dose group was treated with water extracts from Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst of 16%(0.5ml),the middle dose group was treated with water extracts from Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst of 8%(0.5ml),the low dose group was treated with water extracts from Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst of 4%(0.5ml),once daily,respectively for 7 days.The animal were killed at the eighth day.the immune organ weights and the phagocytosis ability of macrophage,the splenic lymphocyte transformation(MTT method),the level of IL-2 were tested.Results:the results showed that the high,middle and low dose groups of Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst do can cause a significant increase of the immune organ weights(P＜0.05),the high and low dose groups of Arnebia euehroma(Royle)Johnst do can cause a significant increase of the phagocytoic rate(P＜0.05);the low dose group of Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst can enhance the proliferation of splenic lymphocyte(P＜0.05),the high and middle dose groups of Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst have no marked effect to the proliferation of splenic lymphocyte(P＞0.05);the high dose group of Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst can increase the level of IL-2,but the middle and low dose groups of Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst have no effect on the level of IL-2(P＞0.05).Conclusion: Arnebia euchroma(Royle)Johnst may have protectaat effect to the immunosuppressed mice treated with cyclophosphamide(CY)and have effect to the nonspecific immunological (the phagocytosis of macrophage)and specific cellular immunological function(the proliferation splenic lymphocyte,the level of IL-2)in immunosuppressed mice treated with cyelophosphamide(CY).Immunomodulation may be one of its mechanism.
