Objective:â‘ To explore activity of NOS and its subtypes in serum of different Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Syndrom groups within three days after epileplic attrack..â‘¡To explore the characteristics of elec-troencephalography(EEG) of differentTraditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Syndrom groups. Methods:â‘ 156 EP patients involved in the clinical study were divided into the EP group of Obstruction of wind-phlegm, Disturbance by phlegm and fire, Stagnation of brain Collaterals , Deficiency of heart and spleen, Deficiency of heart and kidney, the level of activity of NOS and its subtypes were detected in the five groups.â‘¡EEC-test of the five groups were compared . Results:â‘ There were statistical differences in activity of iNOS(P=0.001) and cNOS (P=0.004), and insignificant difference in the activity of NOS between the TCM Syndrom groups.â‘¡There were insignificant difference in frequence of adjustment of waxing and waning, the rate showed EP wave, ect (P=0.297,0.268 respectively, ect), and statistical difference in frequence of normal and moderation of basic rhythm and the rate showed abnormal slow wave and the abnormal rate of EEG between the TCM Syndrom groups (P=0.025> 0.012,0.008 respectively). There were statistical difference in frequence of the normal basic rhythm and moderation of it between group of Obstruction of wind-phlegm and group of Deficiency of heart and kidney(P=0.005). There were statistical difference in frequence of abnormal slow wave between group of Disturbance by phlegm and fire and group of Stagnation of brain Collaterals(P=0.001). There were statistical difference in frequence of normal EEG and abnormal EEG between group of Disturbance by phlegm and fire and group of Stagnation of brain Collaterals (P=0.001). Conclusion: INOS and cNOS can be see as one of the reference basis for TCM Syndrom type becoming more objective, the basic rhythm and abnormal slow wave in EEG have a certain relation with TCM Syndrom type of EP.
