Clinical Study On The Therapy Of Knee Joint Osteoarthritis By GuanJieZhiTong Capsule

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect and ill effect of GuanJieZhiTong capsule in treating knee joint osteoarthritis,and to investigate its possible mechanism.Methods: All 540 cases that were collected from orthopaedic department of Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of TCM were randomly divided into three groups including treating group,control group 1 and control group 2.Each group include 180 cases. GuanJieZhiTong capsule was used in treating group,ZhuangGuGuanJie pill used in control group 1,and Glucosamine Sulfate Capsules used in control group 2,after 8 weeks,to compare the difference in comparison with pretreatment and post-treatment scores of ISOA(Index of severity of osteoarthritis) and signs in treating and control groups.Results:There are quite difference in comparison with pretreatment and post-treatment scores of ISOA in treating and control groups.In treating groups,the effective rate,the change of scores of ISOA,and the signs were all superior to those in the control groups.The total effective rate in treating group is 83.89%,and the apparent rate is 50.56%. No adverse effect was found during the treatments.Conclusion:GuanJieZhiTong capsule in prensent dimension of dosage and course is safety and has no ill effect.It is an operative medicine in treating knee joint osteoarthritis.
