Clinical medicine is a practical science, trainng of clinical skills is part of the medical education, which is a systematic programme. It's necessary to get clinical skills and ability practise, so that medical workers can complete their jobs smoothly. These years, medical students haven't paid enough attention to the clinical practise, there are lots of reasons, (ex. expanded enrollment, shortage of teachers, less chance of practise for medical students according to the medical service law, et. al), it has been an urgent problem for intensive training and effective evaluation for the clinical skills. We collected data of tests for clinical skills from students who studied in Clinical Medical College these years. And evaluate the reliability of the contents, the contribution of different parts of the test, and the effect of judges according to the Generalizability theory. After the analysis, we can raise our own opinion on the results, and find some effective way to improve it so as to get an optimized one. We can also do the criterion-related validity analysis, to realize the fuction of dignostic evaluation. The Results demostrated a high reliability and efficacy of the tests for clinical skills. It can be even better after optimization. However, a reletive low reliability was found in the part of clinical documentation, we think that it may be related to the usage of electronic clinical record. Some judges paid less attention to this part may be another reason. According to the Generalizability theory, more judges can not contribute more to the total reliability, it's proper to set two judges in the test.We conclued that the evaluating system for medical students on their clinical skills is scientific. The optimized system, especially the dignostic evaluation, can evaluate students' professional quality and clinical skills correctly and objectively. We finally conclued that Generalizability theory is ideal for the evaluation of tests for clinical skills which can be used in different circumstances.
