Radix Angelicae dahuricae is a well-known Chinese herbal medicine and has been used for the treatment of cold, headache, toothache, nose congestion and the reduction of pain in ancient times of China. Main active components of AE are coumarins. In our research, the active components of AE were extracted and isolated by microwave-assisted extraction, macroporous resin, two-dimensional preparative high-performance liquid chromatography, high-speed counter-counter chromatography and other techniques. The consecutive approaches could be adopted as a new technical platform for a wide range of different rapid and automated purification system to isolate chemical constituents from TCM. The contents of AE extracts were determined by UV spectrophotometry and high-performance liquid chromatography. The Pharmacokinetic study of active part of AE was also developed.
