Objective: The medical dispute increases quickly in recent years, which did a lot of harm to patients, medical service and society, and arose more attention of medical service, government and society. Which have already become the crux, Focus problem of the hospital management.The aim of this study is to investigate the personality factors which influence medical treatment dispute occurrence, and Put forward the counterplan for correspond as a result according to the research. The objective is to diminish medical disputes.Methods: 500 doctors were assessed with 16 Personality Factors Questionnaire (16PF). Then 474 effective questionnaires were callback, and the callback rate was 94.8%. Adopt the review research method to investigate the medical dispute of research objects occurred. There are 53 doctors taken place 64 disputes because of their mistake. And 36 people taken place amiss dispute among them, 17 people taken place the service dispute. All analyses were conducted using SPSS 10.0 for Windows. t test and logistic regression were applied to analyze the relation between the personality factors and medical dispute.Results: In personality factor of Dominance and Sensitivity, the scores of Doctors who taken place amiss dispute are significantly higher than that of comparison group(P<0.01); the doctors who taken place the service dispute are significantly lower in personality factor of Emotional Stability(t=6.38,p<0.01) and Perfectionism(t=2.1,p<0.05)and higher in Apprehension(t=4.30,p<0.01)than that of comparison group.The amiss dispute correlated positively with Dominance(b=0.386)and Sensitivity(b=0.273).The service dispute correlated negatively with Emotional Stability(b=-0.798)and Perfectionism(b=-0.243) and positively with Apprehension(b=0.672).Countermeasure: According to research result, put forward reducing the medical dispute occurrence of the counterplan and the suggestion. (1) Many path development molds a good personality characteristic of doctor. (2) Practice the management method that the personality characteristic adapts with job mutually. (3) Strengthen to control the bad personality characteristic doctor's behavior.
