MotivationAs a novel biological technology, genechip has been applied to various areas of life science and facilitated the development of life science and accelerated our steps to understand the life. Genechip plays an important role in gene diagnosis, gene expression, the finding of new genes and the interaction between genes and other biomacromolecules. So, the study on genechip has a widespread perspective. We know that the expression of the gene is affected by other genes. The complex relationships formed the so-called gene regulatory networks for genes. Therefore, we should regard the cellular process as a whole according to the interaction among genes. Genechip may analyze the gene expression at the genomic level, so we can explain the interaction among genes using the mathematical model. So far, there is no report to study the regulatory networks of gene expression based on Lotka-Volterra equation. In additon, people pay more and more attention to hippocampus because it is very important to learn and remember and can control feeling and neuroendocrine. Our purpose is to establish the gene regulatory networks of hippocampus based on dynamic biosystem model during brain development.MethodAccording to GO database, we selected 43 genes which expressed at all seven time spots and were related with the development of hippocampus. According to the dynamic biosystem model, the Lotka-Volterra equations has been applied to establish the gene regulatory networks.ResultBased on the soultions of Lotka-Volterra equations, the regulatory matrix and the intrinsic increasing ratios of gene expression were obtained. And the regulation networks were visualized by Matlab. ConclusionFrom the results above, the dynamic biosystem model can rationally describe the regulation relationships between genes. And the results can give strong proofs for futhur biological experiments to prove the real regulatory networks...
