| Objective: The aim of this study is to report biventricular pacing in 16 patients with refractory congestive heart failure and discuss the clinical experience with biventricular pacing. Methods: 12 patients with refractory congestive heart failure caused by idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and 4 patients caused by ischemic cardiomyopathy received biventricular pacing. All patients received routine electrocardiogram, echocardiography, 6 minutes Hall Walking(6MHW) and clinical cardiac function evaluation as baseline within a week before operation. on month 3 and month 6 after operation. Result: Pacemaker were successfully implanted in all 16 patients. Clinical cardiac function in patients were obviously improved than before and their QRS duration was significantly decreased, while their LVEF increased. Conclusion: Biventricular pacing can remarkably improve cardiac function, enhance life quality in patients with refractory congestive heart failure. |
