| Objective : To test whether the Ankylosing Spondylitis Pain Scale ( ASPS ) is significantly reliable and effective for the pain quantization of Ankylosing Spondylitis ( AS ). Method: The author designed the ASPS , special for pain quantization of AS , which is based on three currently available pain quantization methods . Firstly , 89 cases with AS were tested broadly by ASPS in order to observe the feasibility of ASPS . Secondly , forty-six in 89 cases with AS under Du-moxibustion were selected , and tested individually four times pain intensity using the ASPS by self-evaluating subjectively through the course of treatment . Using these recordes , this article counted the repeat measurement reliability of ASPS and the effect of Du-moxibustion on pain intensity of AS . At the same time , tested widespread in patients with AS, for knowing the application validity . Result: 1. Great majority patients (94.4%) of 89 cases can express their pain intensity by using ASPS . 2. There is no significant difference between the first and the repeat pain measurement ( P﹥0.05 ) , and the correlativity is fine between them ( r=0.92,P﹤0.01) . 3.There is very significant difference about pain measurement between the prior and the later to Du-moxibustion ( P﹤0.01 ) . After a course of Du-moxibustion the pain intensity of AS had relieved 35.96% , with efficiency for 82.61% . Conclusion: ASPS is significantly reliable for the pain assessment of Ankylosing Spondylitis ,and can effectively react the effectiveness of Du-moxibustion on AS pain intensity. ASPS is a reliable way for the pain quantization of AS and assessment of treatment effectiveness . |
