Objective: To observe feasible and stability and evaluate the feasible of IVDSA in rabbits imaging, we used surgery technique to create the elastase-induced saccular aneurysm model in rabbits. Methods:â‘ We firstly established porcine pancreatic elastase-induced aneurysm model in rabbits. IVDSA was performed at 3w, 8w and 4m after the procedure, and then compared the size of aneurysms at different time points.â‘¡At time point of 3d, 7d, 3w, 8w and 4m after the procedure, some aneurysms were harvested and submitted to microscope analysis using H-E and P/VB staining technique.â‘¢Some rabbits was performed IADSA and IVDSA at the same pose and the same machine point of view. The diameter of large arteries on aortic arch were measured, including origin of arteria anonyma, origin of LCCA, middle of LCCA and origin of RSCA, and these data were compared in IADSA and IVDSA results. Results:â‘ Follow-up imaging performed at 3w, 8w and 4m after creation showed no change in width and height of aneurysm and diameter of neck and parent vessel(P>0.05).â‘¡In 3 weeks after surgical process, pathology result showed aneurysms mural and neck covered with a thin layer hypocellular tissue and abrupt termination of the elastic lamina was observed at the margins of aneurysm neck. Thromb was seen at the dome of all aneurysms. However, the mural of aneurysm became thicker after 8 weeks and elastin was not seen yet.â‘¢There were no significant differences in the diameter of arteria anonyma origin, LCCA origin, LCCA middle and RSCA origin between two DSA methods. Conclusion: The elastase-induced aneurysm model we have developed by surgery method is not only long-term patency but also easier to perform and highly reproducible. They can be ideal model for testing endovascular therapies. These models histologically resemble human aneurysms. IVDSA can clearly show the large arteries on aortic arch in rabbit imaging, and it is a well complementary method to IADSA.
