Objective: To observe and evaluate the clinical effect of Naoliuke Capsuleon brain metastatic neoplasm. To evaluate the integral clinical effects byobserving the size of tumor, symptoms and signs, survival time and side effectsbefore and after treatment. Furthermore, to evaluate the toxicity and side effectsof Naoliuke Capsule by observing the changes of indexes of liver, kidney andblood system, thus provides measurable methods for exploration of treatment forbrain metastatic neoplasm. Methods: The research was designed randomly and comparably. Thediagnostic standard of Western medicine as well as Chinese medicine andclinical effect evaluation standard was set up according to the relevant standardsof Common Malignant Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment in China and Guidelinesof New Chinese Medicine. 40 cases with wind phlegm stasis and evil syndromewere enrolled in the clinical research and divided into treatment group andcontrol group randomly. The treatment group was given Naoliuke Capsulecombined with chemotherapy. The Naoliuke Capsule was provided by theJiangsu Hospital of Traditional Medicine, which was composed of zhinanxing, shougong, banxia, shichangpu, ezhu, quanxie, zhuling. The usage method was 6tablets per time and 3 times per day. The usage method of chemotherapy drugwas 60mg VM26 per square meters plus 500 microliters 0.9 percent NaCl byintravenous bolus from the first day to the fourth day, and 25mg DDP per squaremeters plus 500ml 5%GS from the first day to the third day. 28 days were acycle, effect was evaluated after 2 consecutive cycles. The control group wastreated with chemotherapy alone with the usage, method and period of methodwas as same as the treatment group. Results: The external remission rates of treatment group was 25.00 percent, slightly higher than those of the control group (15.00 percent), but there was no statistical significance between the two groups, the efficiency rate of clinicalsymptoms was 75.00 percent and 40.00 percent respectively, and there werestatistical significances between the groups. The KPS grades of the treatmentgroup was higher than the control group and there were statisticalsignificance. The survival time of the two groups has no statistical significancewhich may be attributable to few cases and short observation time. Conclusions: The Naoliuke Capsule can improve the clinical symptoms andcommon living conditions of the patients with brain metastatic neoplasm andenhance the objective effect tendency with no adverse effects.
