Clinic Application Of Swiss Lithoclast Under Ureteroscope In The Treatment Of 98 Cases Of Upper Ureteral Calculi

Objective:To investigate the clinical use of ureteroscope pneumatic lithotrity on the treatment of upper ureteral calculi.Methods:From Aug 2005to Jun 2007.98 patients with upper ureteral calculi were treated bv swiss lithoclast under ureteroscope,the length of stone varied from 1.3～2.3cm.the width was 0.7～1.1cm,37 cases had light to moderate hydrocalycosis.54 cases were treated with ESWL before.Results:In this group, satisfactory result were obtained in 85cases,while 13 cases failed and need additional treatment,7cases received ESWL,6cases treated bv MPCNL.3 case had complication of ureteral perforation and 1 need open operation,2 others cured by inserting Double-J ureteral stents.Conclusion:the combined pneumatic lithotripsy and vacuum suction device appears to be effective and safe for disintegrating and removing upper ureteral calculi,especially for stones which relative small or have some distance away from ureteropelvic junction.
