Objective To analysis the dignosis and method of surgery, and to analysis the relationship between the deformities of external auditory meatus(EAM)with middle ear and hearing threshold. Methods From 2000-2008 years, 24 patients (29 ears) with the congenital microtia were analyzed retrospectively, classified the degree of acouesthesia and anisotrophy, and to summarize the method of surgery. The 16 ears have reconstructed auricles and simultaneously restored their extenral auditory canal and auditory function, the 5 ears have restored their extenral auditory canal and auditory function. Result These mainly consisted of small tympanic cavities, ossicular chain anomalies, and facial nerve abnomalities. To analysis the relationship between the deformities of EAM with middle ear and hearing threshold by statistical methods. The hearing threshold showed significant difference of clinical analysis in deformans degree of EAM with middle ear, and have relationship between two directions. The postoperative complications were external auditory canal stenosis in 3 ears, the infection of incisional wound in 2 ears, thesensprineural hearing loss in 1 ear. Conclusion Careful evaluation of the hearing and imageology of congenital deformity of external and middle ear before operation are important.Operation to choose the best surgical approach in accordance with the specific conditions of patients is the key to enhance the effectiveness...
