As a kind of traditional chinese medicine, Panax ginseng C.A.Meryer is famous all over the world.The main chemical component of ginseng is ginsenosides,which own multiple pharmacological activities for its diverse chemical structures.In order to prepare quantity of low content and high pharmacological activity ginsenosides ,six compounds were isolated from the products of ginsenoside-Re degradation in alkaline condition by using the chromatography and recrystallization etc.All the compounds were identified by the spectral methods including 1H-NMR,13C-NMR and IR etc.They are 20(S)-ginsenoside-Rg1,20(S)-ginsenoside-Rg2,Ginsenoside-Rg6,20(S)-ginsenoside-Rh1,Ginsenoside-Rk3 and 20(S)-PPT.The optimal condition in sodium hydroxide glycerol solution was established by orthognol experiments. The optimal conditions of degradation to prepare 20(S)-PPT are as follows: the ginsenoside-Re and sodium hydroxide (the ratio is 1:1.7, saponins/ sodium hydroxide, w/w) are dissolved in glycerol (the ratio is 1:15.0, w /v), then the solution was heated up to 260℃and was keeped for 50 min at the temperature, the transformation rate was 34.5%;The optimal conditions of degradation to prepare 20(S)-ginsenoside-Rh1 are as follows: the ginsenoside-Re and sodium hydroxide (the ratio is 1:1.4, saponins/ sodium hydroxide, w/w) are dissolved in glycerol (the ratio is 1:15.0, w /v), then the solution was heated up to 235℃and was keeped for 40 min at the temperature, the transformation rate was 26.5%; The optimal conditions of degradation to prepare 20(S)-ginsenoside-Rg2 are as follows: the ginsenoside-Re and sodium hydroxide (the ratio is 1:1, saponins/sodium hydroxide, w/w) are dissolved in glycerol (the ratio is 1:15.0, w /v), then the solution was heated up to 215℃and was keeped for 30 min at the temperature, the transformation rate was 27.5% The results showed that ginsenosides can be degraded and become minor ginsenosides.In conclusion,all the results of the study can offer credible foundation for the development of new drugs.
