Objective : To investigate the antipyretic and analgesic effects of shaoqiduogan(SQDG); To compare the antipyretic and analgesic effects of SQDG, total glucosides of paeony(TGP), astragalosides(ASTs) and TGP plus ASTs.Methods:1. The antipyretic effect of TGP, ASTS, TGP plus ASTS , and SQDG was monitored by dry yeast-induced pyrexia in rats;2. The analgesic effect of TGP, ASTS, TGP plus ASTS , and SQDG was observed by the acetic acid-induced writhing test ,the hot plate test and formalin test in mice.Results:1. SQDG inhibited the fever induced by yeast injection in rats, but it only lasted for a short moment;2. SQDG prolonged the hind paw licking latency on hot plate and writhing test;reduced the writhing number on acetic acid-induced writhing test;SQDG inhibited the nociceptive response induced by formalin on the second phase of the formalin test.3. Comparing with TGP+ ASTS(105+15mg·kg-1,ig) and TGP(140 mg·kg-1,ig), SQDG(120 mg·kg-1,ig)could depress the reaction of hot plate test effectively; comparing with TGP (25mg·kg-1,ig),SQDG(21.25 mg·kg-1,ig)could reduce the rectal temperature in rats injected yeast remarkably.Conclusion:1. SQDG has antipyretic effects, but the mechanism is still unclear;2. SQDG has analgesic effects, which is worth further study;3. Comparing with TGP+ASTs(105+15mg·kg-1,ig) and TGP(140 mg·kg-1,ig), SQDG(120 mg·kg-1,ig) could depress the reaction of hot plate test effectively; comparing with TGP (25mg·kg-1,ig),SQDG(21.25 mg·kg-1,ig) could reduce the rectal temperature in rats injected yeast remarkably.
