Objective To compare Ankle brachial index (ABI),color-Doppler,multi-slice spiral computed tomography angiography(CTA) with digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in assessment of peripheral arterial disease(PAD) caused by diabetes. Methods Thirty- eight type 2 diabetes cases underwent ABI,color-Doppler,CTA and DSA .DSA was used as the gold standard. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rate of ABI,color-Doppler,CTA were calculated. Results When compared with DSA , the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rate of ABI were 66%,88% and 68% respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rate of color-Doppler were 66%,100% and 68% respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy rate of CTA were 77%,88% and 79% respectively. Conclusion There is a good accuracy rate of ABI,color-Doppler,CTA as compared with DSA in diagnosis of PAD in DM.they play an important clinical examination for the early diagnosis, prevention and treatment in peripheral arterial disease.CTA is a minimal invasive technique and play an important role in the recognition of theanatomical detail of lower limb vesses, which provides useful information for the diagnosis and treatment planning. There is a good accuracy rate of CTA.CTA is better than the ABI and color-Doppler . CTA can take the place of DSA in assessment of PAD in DM in most cases.
