Objective: To study the effect of Tuiyi tablets on the level of serum IL-2 and ultrastructure changes of herpes simplex keratitis model in mice . Identify the mechanism of pharmacodynamic action. Methods: The modle of HSK mice were constructed. Different dose of Tuiyi tablets were taken oral respectively. Acyclovir, model and blank group were used as control groups. The severity of HSK was evaluated by slit-lamp biomicroscop examinations and was scored. Concentration of IL-2 in mouse serum was measured by ELISA method. All eyes were examined by transmission electron microscopy for comparison. Results: 1) Keratopathy score of HSK mice in Tuiyi tablet-high, medium and low dose groups, ACV group are statistical compared with the model group.(P<0.05) The statistical analysis shows significant difference between Tuiyi tablet-high, medium dose groups and ACV group (P<0.05); 2) TEM observation shows that mice is rich microvilli normal morphology and corneal tissue layers in Tuiyi tablets -high and midium dose groups comparing with ACV group; 3) The level of IL-2 is statistical in Tuiyi tablets of different dose group comparing with the model group (P<0.01) there is no significant differences between ACV and the model groups (P>0.05) The statistical analysis shows significant difference between Tuiyi tablet-high, medium dose groups and ACV group (P<0.01). Conclusions: Tuiyi tablets can accelerate repairment of the mice corneal, improve the level of IL-2 in serum, regulate immune function and inhibit the development of HSK.
