| Objective:To examine the polymorphism of TM 1418 C/T in Northern and Southern Chinese han population and study the relationships between this genetic variation and CHD.Methods:A hospital-based case-control study which include 171 case of conronary heart diseases and 130 controls from the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical College and the First People's Hospital of He Nan province.Amplification refractory mutation system was used to define the TM gene 1418 C/T genotype.Explore the relation between Polymorphism of TM gene 1418 C/T and CHD.Analyze the difference of influnce which polymorphism of TM gene 1418 C/T on CHD in northern and southern Chinese han population.Results:The frequencies of C/T,C/C,T/T genotypes were:61.97%,26.76%,11.27%in southern CHD groups,while the control groups were 67.86%,12.5%,19.64%.There were significant differences in frequencies of genotype between control and CHD groups(p<0.05):Three genotypes of TM gene 1418 C/T,C/T,C/C,T/T had been detected in northern CHD groups, the frequencies of C/T,C/C,T/T genotypes were:37.00%,53.00%,10.00%in CHD groups, while the normal groups were:53.42%,12.33%,34.25%.There were significant differences in frequencies of genotype control and CHD groups(p<0.05);TM genotype frquencies were as follows:T/T 11.27%,T/C 61.97%and C/C 26.76%in southern CHD groups and 10.00%, 37.00%and 53.00%in northern CHD groups,The frequency of the C/C genotype was significantly higher in the northern CHD groups than in southern(53.00%vs 26.76%). Frequency of the C allele in northern(71.50%)was significantly higher than in southern (57.75%)(p<0.05).Conclusion:1418 C/T polymorphism of the TM gene is associated significantly with CHD in northern and southern Chinese han population,and the genetically determined reaction of T 1418 to C in TM gene may be a genetic risk factor of CHD;TM gene 1418 C/T polymorphism exist difference between the northern and southern Chinese han CHD population,significantly higher in northern Chinese han CHD Population. |
