Objective: To investigate the blood lead level of 2~7years old children in Dalian and identify the related factors of high lead level. to provide scientific date for preventing lead poisoning .Methods: Blood lead was determined in 543 healthy children in the city between October and December in 2007 with method of epidemiology . The children were asked to answer a question concerning personal life , family members and living condition .Results: The lead level of children ranged from 2 to 175μg/L and their lead level from P25 to P75 was 26 to 58μg/L. .The mean blood lead level was 40μg/L with 8.1%(44 children) of those≥80μg/L and 0.9%(5 children) of those≥100μg/L which is generally accepted by international.Conclusion: Children ,s lead level is related to their parent , s education , secondhand smoking , the distance between their home and lead polluting factories ,frequency of eating puffing food , chromium level and study trouble and influenced by family life , environmental pollution and diet habit .
