The Clinical Significance Of Urine Cytology By Acridine Orange Fluorescene In Diagnosis Of Bladder Cancer

Objective This To investigate the association between AO-F positive-rate and bladder carcinoma;and also to evaluate the value of A0-F in diagnosis and therapy of bladder carcinoma.Methods 1016 patients with bladder carcinoma from 1995 to 2005 were reviewed retrospectively.The positive-rate of AO-F in different stages,grades,size,number, position of tumor,hematuria and treatment way were calculated.804 outpatients with AO-F from 2004-2006 were reviewed.The urine of 60 patients with bladder tumor were detected with AO-F,HE stain,tumor cell DNA image analysis simultaneously.Results The total positive-rate of AO-F was 78.05%in bladder cancer.The positive-rate is 77.83%in BTCC,81.82%in squamous cell carcinoma,77.83%in adencarcinoma.The positive-rate was 74.69%in superficial stage and 91.91%in invasive bladder carcinoma;67.24%in gradeâ… andâ…¡,90.37%in gradeâ…¢; 80.30%in patients with hematuria,52.43%in patients without hematuria;79.86%in size of tumor more than 2cm diameter,65.35%in size less than 2cm diameter;83.06% in multiple tumors,74.26%in single tumor;77.21%in tumor which involving trigone or neck of bladder,78.07%in tumor without involving these regions respectively; 69.68%in treatment with TURBt,87.86%in bladder partial resection,91.74%in bladder total resection.A good association is observed between stage,grade, hematuria appearance,size,number of bladder carcinoma,treatment way and AO-F positive-rate,and a linear correlation is present with grade,stage and positive cytology;There are no significant association between position of the tumor and AO-F positive-rate.The sensitivity and specificity of AO-F was 77.11%in bladder tumor in 804 outpatients.Positive-rate of HE stain is 45%,tumor cell DNA image analysis is 55%,AO-F is 75%. Conclusions AO-F is valuable in dignosis and treatment way of bladder carcinoma.So it was recommend that it can be used more extentively in clinic.
